"I had a wonderful stay at Powter Howe, a real treat. The room and bathroom were immaculately cleaned and well kept and the host is a gem who cooks the best breakfast which includes lovely free range eggs from her own hens. Waking up in the morning to the view over a beautiful garden beyond the lake to Skiddaw was an extra treat as each morning there was a new ever changing Lake District vista. I'll definitely be back! "On arrival the owner was very helpful and explained they had just taken over . However, they were no serving food on a Sunday evening , which they could have let us know . No tv in the rooms . No hand soap and shower gel. Room was clean and nice and quiet ."
