Rooms were very nice and clean. The staff were all nice and very helpful and the property was never extremel.y crowded

Third stay at The Berkley & the deterioration in standards was remarkable. 1st apartment had broken AC. After 28 hours awake travelling, we’d unpacked & put away our shopping, only to pack up & move at 10pm on our 1st night. The replacement wasn’t properly cleaned, with food under the sofa. The bathroom extractor was clogged solid with dust, the washer/dryer cupboard door fell off when opened & the shower stayed hot for approx 5 minutes. Most concerning, an electrical socket had been crudely cut to make the faceplate fit, leaving a large accessible gap beside a mains outlet & potential shock hazard. The fridge/ice-box leaked despite 2 maintenance visits & eventually flooded the fridge. Refrigerated medication & food had to be discarded. Kitchen equipment was so poor we bought our own. The pool was dirty, unheated for around 2 weeks & its access gate repeatedly failed. Lifts were frequently out of order. No apartment refresh was offered in 22 nights. We disputed an additional resort fee as our Expedia booking stated property charges were included. Management agreed, yet our card was later charged anyway & only reversed after we complained again. We also received repeated phishing emails containing reservation-specific information. Despite raising this with staff & managers, we received no meaningful explanation. These weren’t matters of personal preference or expectations, but repeated failures of accommodation, maintenance & service. After 3 stays, we won’t return.
