Las Vegas

Las Vagas, or theaptly named ‘Sin City’, is a party city to beat all others. Filled to the brimwith casinos and megaclubs, at night, its bright neon lights can be seen fromspace. Of course, many people just go to Vegas totry their luck at the casinos that never close, but there is much more toexperience.

When the state of Nevadain issued its first gaming license in 1931, Las Vegaswas just a small sleepy town in the desert. This began an incredibledevelopment, which resulted in the decadent playground that we know today. LasVegas has been the favourite hideout of the famous and infamous, from notorious gangsters to the Rat Pack from the '60s - not surprisingconsidering its unrivalled decadence. Now it is a sparkling entertainmentparadise that is suitable for all, from serious gamblers to families lookingfor fun in the desert sun.

While gambling and the more adult side ofentertainment are pretty much Las Vegas’ callingcard, it doesn’t take too much effort to find a more innocent side to the city.In a party town so buzzing, you can gain incredible memories with simplepleasures as the evening parade in Fremont Street Experience and the nightlyfountain show at Bellagio Hotel. These attractions are both free.

Animal lovers can come face to face withfascinating sea creatures at the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, anddaredevils can overcome their biggest fears in the Stratosphere Tower, whereyou can experience the deepest free fall in the world. And if all that were notenough, you can always follow the highway out to the Grand Canyon, abreathtaking natural phenomenon and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. To get the most out of the experience, book a Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour.

Shopping is a popular pastime in Vegas, and as you would expect in a city where people with too much money come to win,the city is the equal of New York and Los Angeles when it comes to the choiceof designer shops and posh malls. Of course, all that shopping can work up anappetite. Although Vegas still offers the famousall-you-can-eat buffets, the city has also developed its own unique culinaryscene, which is beginning to grow a bit of a reputation.

Vegas would not beVegas without the spectacular style casino hotels. If you're travelling to ‘SinCity’, you can combine real luxury with incredible new experiences. You canexperience ancient Rome at Caesars Palace or embark on an Italian gondola atThe Venetian, all within a stone’s throw of each other. Whether you're at thetop of the Eiffel Tower of the Paris Hotel, enjoying the view of the eruptingvolcanoes at the Mirage or the skyline of" New York "in New York, NewYork, you can rely on one thing “only in Vegas”.

Las Vegas is a bit tricky. My wife and I are not big drinkers or gamblers, and our party days are kind of behind us. That being said, we thought Las Vegas was certainly entertaining. I am not sure we will ever go back but I am very glad we went :)

We visited Vegas in early March, the weather was just right for us not too hot or cold. We stayed at the Venetian where surrounding areas was clean, however, cannot say the same for the other end of the strip!

Still an adult playground but It's a shame that Freemont Street doesn't feel as safe anymore . The hotel's seem to be stopping some of their attractions rather than maintaining them. Such as the TI siren show, MGM have taken away the rain forest cafe
