"The property was awesome. Everyone was so amazing. Juan jose the bartender was always on top of getting us drinks. My girlfriend wanted everyone to know you have a amazing employee. The food was top notch. We are so impressed with this hotel we will be staying here again. I do wish they had Mexican food night in the Balam more than once a week. Also, it would be cool if the hot tub was open until 9 pm or 10pm so you could have some relaxing time after dinner. My buddy Caleb said it was the best week of his life at this resort.Great job NYX staff. Keep up the great work. "

"Beach full of sargassum. Life guards wouldn't allow us to swim or even wade in the water most days due to concerns with waves. Had to walk down the beach to swim in front of another resort or travel to sister Royal Cancun to use their beach. Treated like second class citizens if you don't join the Holiday Inn Vacation club. Couldn't make reservation in restaurants until day of at 8 am and was then told they are full. Argued with front desk and they found 1 day exception for me. Rooms are clean and food overall pretty good despite trying to sell up charges on almost everything. Thought flags to reserve chairs were ridiculous as this became a competition amongst the seniors citizens on staking out their daily prize location at the beach or pool. Live entertainment was ok but only 3 nights a week and didn't involve kids like other resorts do. Won't plan to go back for another 30 years. Better choices out there if you want fun with your children. "

"This is the cleanest resort or hotel I have ever stayed at. Our room, restaurants, common spaces, washrooms, pools, and event spaces were all clean and in excellent repair. The staff is amazing, very attentive and knowledgable. The food was delicious in every restaurant, changed often. Gluten free - 2 of my family members have Celiac disease and after a small hiccup on day 1 it was a very seamless dining experience. Suggest identifying your dietary restrictions to the resort before you travel, then speak with a Concierge and each restaurant Supervisor on arrival. Each morning, we identified at which restaurant we eat lunch and dinner so they could be prepared and it worked well. Not a single gluten exposure, very very grateful. Accessibility - If you are a wheelchair or rollator/walker user, you might have difficulty at this resort. The floors in the buildings are shiny tile, slippery when wet, but the outdoor walkways are all large, flat rocks with eneven surfaces cemented together creating a cobblestone effect. It is difficult to pull suitcases over the stone so the bell hops drive you on golf carts. Yes, the staff will happily drive you but that impacts independence. I have joint replacements and needed to use hiking poles, as many of the uneven walkways are long ramps. Also, the shortest number of stairs to reach the beach is 4+ 4 with a landing in between and no handrail. The stairs with 8+ stairs have rope handrails. We had a lovely experience, fantastic beach view"

"This is the second time we’ve been to this resort and I couldn’t recommend it more. The food, staff, amenities, and overall property are great. Only tip would be to either book poolside cabanas in advance or commit to waking up really early to secure loungers by the pool as they fill up quickly. "
