"We really enjoyed staying in a real house in a real neighborhood for our trip to Kyoto. There was plenty of room for our small family, and we felt we had a more authentic visit to this beautiful city. A couple things to note for those who read reviews is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow, and I worried for my husband navigating them in the dark at night. "What a beautiful oasis in the middle of Kyoto! Every single attention to detail was made. Rooms were gorgeous, food was amazing, staff was very helpful and friendly. I was told the keys were left in the mailbox ahead of time but the sign on the door asked us to contact the property before we entered. When I contacted them all they said was the keys are in the mailbox. I assume it was a google...
