"What a gem of a hotel this is. Had a lovely sea view single room that was comfortable and spacious. Bed was lovely and comfortable. It is right by a bus stop and close to all amenities. Three theatres nearby and a short walk to the town and the pier. I can't comment on the dining as didn't eat there and also can't comment on parking as travelled by train. The staff were lovely too,"

"We were visiting friends and stayed one night. Good sized room, very comfortable, good en-suite and air con. All the brown wood was a bit dated and dark. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good"

"An amazing weekend at the Grand - was there for our wedding anniversary that coincided with the Airbourne. Staff on the whole were amazing - the service was a bit intermittent at times, but it was a busy weekend for them so totally understand how difficult it is to get the resource right. We will definitely be back to stay again."

"Mould covered the bathroom walls, old out dated mixed furniture, four poster bed no curtain. The curtain rail missing in most places, which needed a good paint job. mattress kept coming off bed. No Pressure in shower. Tv put on wall lopsided, no one on reception, and when you finally caught up with host she was rude!! Asked us to leave room a day early she'd double booked room!! Dreadful "
