"Before and during our stay John, the host, was always attentive and supportive. Mandy who is the on-site Manager was lovely and really helpful and was there to meet us when we arrived. Because we live local to the area Mandy was good enough to allow my mum and grandkids have a look around this historical property too. It is an amazing old building dating back to the 13th century. There was a good combination of old features particularly in the main entrance and sitting room and also luxury well equipped modern bathrooms. As locals living close by, it was a fantastic opportunity to stay overnight in such a wonderful building. From the village and small road that leads to the castle you wouldn’t know it was there. Well recommended to stay somewhere unique and historical. For those with families it would make an ideal base to explore the area and visit Alton Towers. "

"We book this hotel as a break from driving on the M6. The staff are helpful and friendly, the hotel is very clean, the evening meals are exemplary and reasonably priced. The house and grounds are beautiful. A one night stay can feel like a holiday. "

"The staff were all lovely,the breakfast was delicious too,lots of choice,the room was really nice ,but the bed was awful,we both found it so uncomfortable ,the premier inn bed is so much more comfortable and bigger,plus the quilt was very small for the bed,the bathroom was lovely and clean,and the shower was good for me been upright,the pressure wasnt very good though,apart from the bed ,everything was really nice,we enjoyed our stay,and all the staff,checkin and breakfast restaurant staff were really nice too"

Parking was easy and hassle-free, with plenty of space available, which is a huge plus when traveling. The location is another highlight — there’s lots to do within walking distance, including shops, restaurants, and local attractions, making it ideal for both leisure and business stays. Overall, this hotel combines Hilton’s signature comfort with unbeatable convenience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Stoke-on-Trent."

"Real easy freindly check in. Rooms are clean and adequately appointed. It was a spacious double room, with generous size bathroom with bath tub. Its nice to have iron, ironing board, trouser press, hairdryer and fan. Unfortunately the pillows are a bit inadequate. Provided with 3 very flat, very warn pillows for a double room for two people. We put up with this as it'd been a long day and couldn't be bothered to go to reception. Im sure they would have sorted thisbout if we'd asked. Also the shower (which mixer looks to have been recently replaced) was very temperamental. Basically a lot of fiddling to get a usable temperature, the finest adjustment being either very cold or scolding hot. Overall for a 2 star hotel at the price we paid a reasonable stay and somewhere we would stay again for affordable hassle free accommodation. "

"Absolutely shocking. Stunk off Stale Curry and Urine. Nothing maintained, dangerous electricals, bed linen unwashed and no covers on the yellow/brown pillows and quilts. Food still in the sink, urine in the toilet and a huge wet patch in one of the rooms carpets. There were only room to sleep 3 even though there were 4 of us that we had booked so had to arrange alternative accommodation and no refund accepted from the landlord even though he agreed it while we were at the property. I wish i could upload photos and videos for all to see."
