If you’re considering Hotelio Azul, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. To start off the check-in experience was an absolute disaster not to mention our room was not ready by the promised time. No worries, we opted to relax by the pool until we could check-in. We ordered two margaritas to only find out we were charged over $40 (USD) per margarita, coincidentally they only wanted to accept cash. It didn’t end here, on our final night in Tulum we opted to end the night early and planned to take a dip in the above-ground hot tub on the rooftop (side note, it closes the second the clock strikes 10 pm). Surprise-surprise, the heater was broken in the hot tub. The rooftop bar staff asked if they could make it up to us by offering us a beer, we accepted and then presented with a check for $16 (USD) for two Modelo’s. We asked if they could charge it to our room since we had no cash or cards in our possession which they refused. They literally followed me down to our room to collect payment for two beers that were originally offered to us free of charge. This place is criminal, if you think I’m joking, Google, “owner of Hotelito Azul Tulum”.
I could continue detailing out our terrible experience but it’s more of the same. Do yourself a favor and spend your time and money anywhere else but here. Thankfully, we had only booked three nights at Hotelio Azul and for the rest of our vacation, we stayed at Casa Malca and had an absolutely amazing experience.
