The Mermaid Inn

The Mermaid Inn

10/10 Excellent
"The Mermaid Inn is a very old listed building with bags of history. As such, you don't expect there to be a lift, and the floorboards creak, but I got to sleep in a 4-poster bed which is not something you would experience in a modern hotel! The staff were always friendly and helpful, the bars were well stocked and the food good. It was a different and enjoyable experience, which I would recommend to anyone planning to come to the beautiful town of Rye."

"We stayed here for one night. The hotel was lovely and perfectly appointed. It was close to the bars and restaurants,a couple of minutes walk and you’re in the centre of Rye so if you come by train it’s easy to walk to the hotel and to everything around it. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. We had breakfast which was really good. The staff were really friendly. We couldn’t fault anything about it for the time we were there."

"This hotel is in a prime position- lovely place with lots of character- staff were pleasant and helpful- Brendon showed us to our room and was giving us lots of useful information- Madison who arranged our third night stay was so sweet and kind over the phone and Percy was just as helpful - the food was really nice which we had at the restaurant on our first night - b’fast cooked or continental with a great choice of everything and something for all- highly recommend and we would definitely stay here again- stayed for the music festival- what a beautiful town! Thank you"

The New Inn

The New Inn

10/10 Excellent
"We had a lovely Bank holiday stay at The New Inn in Winchelsea. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing. I had the biggest pie I've ever seen! The bread at breakfast is gorgeous. Room had little niggles like the heaters were not working, I couldn't get the blinds down and there was a lovely swinging sign outside the room creaking. Other than those little issues we have a great time....Lovely cosy vibe. We highly recommend."

The Ship Inn

"Lovely welcome upon arriving, nice bedroom with all the amenities, did not have dinner but had a lovely breakfast with friendly service, the only thing that I was disappointed in was the toilets in the bar area where the cubicle didn't have a lock and it wasn't exactly clean in there, all in all would recommend a stay as good location for everything including train station and nice and quiet at night."

The Lodge

The Lodge

"We stayed just for 1 night. The room is a little cosy but very clean and comfortable. Shower was great but as a warning, whilst the room was marked as mobility friendly it's not wheelchair friendly. There is a step up into room and no room to manoeuvre a wheelchair into bathroom I would say. Breakfast was good quality and a good selection."
