Maldron Hotel Dublin Airport

Maldron Hotel Dublin Airport

10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is in the grounds of the airport. Can walk to terminal 2 in about 10 minutes. There is a shuttle but it fills up quickly so you need to be early. There were 6 of us and 4 got the shuttle with the bags and the other 2 had to walk as there wasn’t enough room for all of us and the other guests. There is tea and coffee facilities in the room. We were unable to avail of breakfast on this trip because we had an early flight but we’ve stayed here before and the breakfast is usually good."

Family Guide to Dublin

Dublin is a beautiful city with a huge heart at its centre. It’s one of the youngest capitals in Europe with some of the friendliest locals you’ll ever meet. In Dublin, everyone is welcome, and families often flock to the city for sightseeing, shopping and to spend some quality time together.

The fair city of Dublin is packed with family hotels suitable for kids of all ages. Whether you want a family room close to Dublin city centre or you’d rather stay on the outskirts of the city, there’s plenty of family-friendly hotels, bed & breakfasts, apartments and guest houses scattered all over the city. If you need more space, a family apartment may be your best option with lots of space for little ones.

Treat the family to the life of luxury and stay at one of Dublin’s castle hotels, complete with stone walls, queen-sized beds and a breakfast feast fit for a king. Or, if you’d rather stay within walking distance to landmarks such as St. Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street, there are plenty of excellent family hotels closer to Dublin’s city centre.

The Zoo is located in Phoenix Park and attracts over one million visitors per year. Families are guaranteed a fun adventure in Irelands most popular family attraction.

The National Wax Museum in Dublin is always a massive hit with the kids. The unique museum takes you on a journey through an enchanting children’s utopia, where you’ll come face-to-face with your favourite celebrities in The Grand Hall of Fame or learn about Ireland’s historical figures such as Oscar Wilde and James Joyce.

A short drive from Dublin’s city centre is the famous Malahide Castle and Gardens. Malahide Castle dates back to the 12th century and has been home to the Talbot family for almost 800 years. Visitors can take a guided tour of the castle, walking through four main reception rooms and bedrooms that give you a real-life glimpse into the past. Out in the beautiful gardens, families with young children will adore exploring the Fairy Trail, which will capture your kid’s imagination and who knows…they might even meet a real fairy along the way!

Families can also enjoy a picnic in St. Stephen’s Green or take it easy with an afternoon of shopping in Grafton Street. The architecture and vibrant city-life hit its peak here, and there’s always street performers and buskers to keep the kids thoroughly entertained!
