"Super nice staff, shoutout to Fredy, Diego & Aurceli! Only thing that was annoying is the beach patrol, it was almost pointless going to the beach on the resort. You were only permitted a very short amount of distance from the shore, and you couldn’t walk past the red flags they had up which were pretty close together. Kinda just get to watch all the other resort guests getting to go in and fully enjoy it while you couldn’t😅So yeah not much outdoor space, but overall my sister and I had a great time:) Everything was easy access, they have an MTS station so all your transportation & excursion needs are all in one place. The food was AMAZINGG and they have so many different dining options. Very clean as well, you can tell all of the staff do a great job maintaining the property. OH and don’t miss the theater shows, they’re so much fun & the dancers were great! Thank you to everyone who made our first time here very worth while:)"

"The property outside is actually really pretty.. the grounds were kept very nice!! Thats about the only good thing I have to say about this resort. The rooms need renovated badly, they don’t clean them well either. There is zero shade on the beach at all. The lobby needs updated and actually the whole resort needs renovated. The reserving dinners daily is ridiculous and if you don’t go down early enough to reserve your nightly dinners at one of three restaurants you’re out of luck and stuck eating the VERY subpar buffet, which had flies flying around and landing on all of the food every time we were there, NONE of the food at any of the restaurants or the buffet was very good at all.. we actually got sad when the reservations would get full and HAD to eat at the buffet.. even though the restaurants were NOT much better. The staff was ok.. not the friendliest.. the drinks at the poolsides were not good and they didn’t know how to make a lot of regular easy drinks. The pools weren’t very clean and just not appealing to swim at all. The tv in our room worked about half the time and the water didn’t work for hours one of the days, we couldn’t flush the toilet or use the sink. We've stayed other places in Cancun and thought we would give Occidental Tu Cancun a try but sadly we wont be back. I feel like this may be harsh but I am being honest, my husband had much more harsh things to say so thought I would do the review. Stay elsewhere."

"Amazing staff — everyone was so welcoming and polite. The hotel was super clean and well maintained, and I loved my stay. I do wish they could improve the food, especially the buffet, as it felt very repetitive."

"Great family hotel! Food was good! The beach is beautiful despite the seaweed season. The only issue is that some staff (receptionist)should be nicer to the guests. Also Expedia provided us with $200 credit to be spent at the hotel. Unfortunately, the staff did not let us use it. Instead, wanted to sell us services despite promising that the credit can be used for it. So $200 was not used nor returned. The 2 bottles of wine was not given to us as well (which was also included in our bookings. We had 2 rooms with ocean view). The receptionist who check us in was quite unprofessional and unpleasant (which was very disappointed to encounter during our stay). I’ve also asked to move to another room because our room only had a small window and was not relocated. A bit disappointed that we paid extra for nicer rooms but got what we got. I wish they screen their reception staff better because no one wants to deal with an unpleasant experience on their vacation (additionally we gave that receptionist a decent tip which she gladly took but she was not nice at all) "

"Pros: Room was clean with toiletries provided (not that I needed but if it’s important to minimal packing), trees were beautiful, ocean shore was an easy walk with great shores. Breakfast staff was very nice Cons: said I was vip (scam) decorated my door and room, thin walls 6am could hear all furniture moving, night staff was very pushy and drinks were trash. Buffet is comparable to a cruise Overall was a nice property and if I went to lay at the ocean I’d reccomend. "
