"We truly enjoyed our stay at the Ion City Hotel. Great central location on the main pedestrian street in the middle of Reykjavík. The hotel’s central location made for convenient access to the sites, restaurants, bars, etc. The front desk staff was very helpful with recommendations, getting us a taxi, etc. Our international flight arrived early morning. Once our room was cleaned and ready they allowed us to check in early. Would definitely stay at the Zion City again."

City Center Hotel

"No one is around. no questions answered. Self Check-in is a ridiculous concept. I ran out of coffee in my room three times, had to hunt the cleaning ladies down to get some pods for the nespresso machine, but other times had to go without morning coffee---really? No tissues in the room, blowing my nose on toilet paper for this expensive room. My last day I was down to the very last of my toilet paper. While it was close to everything, which is great, the noise in downtown doesn't let one sleep til after 4 a.m., no exaggeration. I will stay in a hotel that offers breakfast and is in a quieter neighborhood. The keyless entry was great, really liked that and I always felt safe, a single female traveler, but Iceland is known for it's very lowcrime rate."

"Rooms are small and we were facing ground level to the street so anyone passing by could see into our room (not ideal). Sound proofing also isn’t great. Bathrooms are also small and shower stalls leak into the main bathroom, no matter how hard you try. That being said, hotel is centrally located and clean. I didn’t eat at the hotel so I’m not sure what the food is like."

"Staff was very helpful, room was clean and having the kitchenette was great. Good location for walking around Reykjavik and picking up the group tours. No elevator in our building, just one flight of stairs but could be problem for anyone with disabilities. Some loud music one night on the weekend but ended by midnight."
