For a low-priced option I was happy with this place. Came back every day to a sparkling clean room (as clean as you could make the room at least) More than what I expected, but not much more. Solid option if you're staying in the area and don't want to spend too much $$$

The room was clean but the facilities are in dire need of an upgrade. The floor was uneven, the paint was flaking and worst was the ceiling creaking from the guests upstairs walking about in their room. The bedding was passable and the bathroom was respectable. I knew I wasn’t going to sleep comfortably so I left without spending the night and went to the EasyHotel nearby. You get a superior accommodation for the same price.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and wanted to share my thoughts. Pros: The hotel seamlessly blends modern amenities with the charm of its old building.The rooms were spotless, the front service was friendly and helpful staff that contributed to a positive overall experience. The hotel's location offers convenient access to various restaurants and pubs. Cons: Small Rooms: While the rooms are clean and well-maintained, they are on the smaller side, which may be a consideration for those who prefer more spacious accommodations. Overall, my stay was enjoyable, and I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a convenient location with plenty of dining options around. It's clean and the reception staff were pleasant and friendly both during check in and check out. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear noise from people walking in the room above, but it wasn't too disruptive. Also there can be some noise and flashing lights from the street outside depending on which way your room is facing. Otherwise, comfortable stay and would choose again.

Good stay but could do with a refresh
Easy check in and close proximity to Hoxton Station. Rooms could do with a refresh as a little dated and bedding could do with an upgrade to better quality. It was warm with the heater and bathroom was clean and shower powerful. Furniture and wallpaper could do with being refreshed but adequate for 1 night

A very tired old hotel with a leaky shower, very limited service but in a convenient area if you want to stay in Shoreditch.

Didn’t feel like a safe environment for a woman travelling alone. Difficult check in as insisted on photo ID (which is unusual and not clearly specified). Blinds in room didn’t open.

We booked this hotel prior to lockdown for a festival we were due to attend which was obviously cancelled. We were given a voucher for the value of our stay that we had to book by the end of 2021. Having read the mixed reviews leading up to our rescheduled stay, we were sceptical and hesitant about how it was going to be. Honestly, we were so relieved and annoyed at the negative reviews we had read. The staff were polite and helpful and the room was fine. We were out and about for the majority of our stay (Old Street is just a 10-12 minute walk) and the times we were in the room, we were comfortable. We stayed in a room that had a partially low ceiling which wasn’t fully ideal but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Would definitely recommend this hotel! The couple of things we would note is that there was no full length mirror in the room for anybody that must have one. And possibly could have done with an extra pillow but that is all really. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

Semen stains on bedsheets
Absolutely awful stay. Arrived to check-in and was met with the person at the front desk gossiping away to their collegue. Eventually when they got to me the first thing he said after asking me name was "deposit", they didn't accept American Express so had to pay by debit card. After getting the keys to my room I was greeted by FRESH SEMEN STAINS on the sheets as well as discolouration on the duvet. I immediately went downstairs and requested a new room, before my fellow guest came. At dinner time I ordered takeaway however I was lacking cutlery. I went down to ask the kitchen for a pair of knifes and fork and was so rudely rejected by the chef implying that it's his silverware and I could take it and not return it. Outrageous to think that even. I complained behind the desk and luckily they had spares (which were unwashed), but I had to make do. To add, there were no spare pillows, no extra towels, no toiletry whatsoever, and when we asked for extra pillows we were told the hotel was fully occupied which was clearly a lie as the room given previously to me was empty. Check out was easy and quick... The only good thing about the place.

Great location, warm welcome and comfy bed, and you can grab a good cooked breakfast next door from the cafe. My room had a fridge. Good quality showers and decor. My second trip and it’s my fave place to stay when partying in Hoxton. Fairly priced. Book ahead, very busy at weekends.

DO NOT STAY!
WORST EXPERIENCE ! I have never written a review, but I just had to share this time. The pictures on the website look NOTHING like the real room...dark & gloomy, un-cleaned kitchen and washing machine, thin wall you can hear everything, shower barely any water. The manager asked us to change the room, but all the rooms were in the SAME condition. We were so uncomfortable that we decided to check out after 2 nights, instead of staying 12 nights. We asked the manager for a partial refund, but they refused by insisting "it is non-refundable". They were not understanding, not accommodating, very disappointed with everything.

Had an exhaust-ish type smell in my room, when i told the hotel reception downstairs, he just shrugged his shoulders, wasn't bothered or simply doesn't understand the dangers... i asked him to contact his manager. He said, the manager is in tomorrow.. I told him i might be dead by then.. he wasn't bothered.. he didnt even want to come upstairs to come and check what was wrong. I went back upstairs and inspected the room only to find it was the oil radiator leaking.. turned it off, froze to death in the night on a solid hard bed.. woke up to a shower that goes hot and cold constantly. Its such a pity, because the prices are good, hotel is very clean and has huge potential. Its all about the people. If the chap downstairs showed some interest, perhaps they wouldn't be getting this review. It really does help how matters are dealt with that makes all the difference... bottom line.. wont be back.. I'm done with it and will pay more to use a reputable hotel chain next time.. Bleh..

When we came back to hotel after a football game we wanted to find a shop for some water. We asked for directions for a shop to get aome water and she went out the back and gave us 4 bottles free of charge. Would highly recommend

The room was very small. They have updated it so the facilities were quite modern, but it had a few ssues. For example the vanity unit leaked so when you turned the tap on water was all over the floor. They had put damp rid in the vanity unit to try and hide the smell of the dampness but that's not really ideal. They should repair it. It is quite thin walls so you can hear a lot of noise from the corridors and the other apartment rooms. The bed was very comfortable and the place was really clean and overall we enjoyed our stay. I'm not sure if I would come again mainly due to the leaking sink which did leave an odour in the room.

Newly refurbished and clean, but when I last stayed the rooms were spacious and well equipped. Now they are very small and everything is hassly, whether it is listening to the motor on the drainage system when water goes down the plug, not being able to wash in the sink because it is meant for a dolls house, not being able to fill the kettle because it doesn't fit under the tap (so you have to fill cups and pour into the kettle), no internet reception from the bed, no television reception, although this might be because I don't have a degree in IT and couldn't work out which buttons to press on the two remotes! I needed a ladder to climb into the shower and forgot when I got out, and thought that I was free-falling! If I was less able bodied it could have been a disaster ending up with my head stuck in the toilet a few feet away.! Maybe I was unlucky this time,but I won't risk it again. There are other hotels that must be better value. Make sure you avoid room 104!!
