Real value for money for a central London stay. Bkg in & out really easy. Secure access late in evening, also easy Downside: no facilities (tea/coffee making) in room nor WiFi. If included, they could add £10 -20 to the room cost per night

Was hard to find, get to from coach station. On arriving lady checking us in was nice friendly easy to do. Getting to room had go outside, down then in doors. Out room was ground floor nearly fell down stairs steep step soon as open door. Getting in room there was empty spare that could be used as table chairs for guests maybe to eat if staying more than a night. Bed was so comfy lovely was tidy. Can do with bit more work. Just a kettle no cups etc. bathroom can tell just been made new shower toilet sink lovely. Can see they working on things. Would stay again. As can see from reviews was bad before but they working on improving.

Close to British Museum. Minimalist room small bed small TV. Would have been suitable if it were clean. There was dried blood splattered on the wall and someone's dirty boxers were on top of the wardrobe. When I went to complain, only a receptionist was available. She was very nice but said that "it was just an old building so they can't help things like that". Saw manager when I checked in but was not present upon checkout.

Listen, this is a classic example of you get what you pay for. It’s very, very central, dirt cheap, the carpets and everything else haven’t been updated since about 1980, there were numerous stains in the room which may have been blood or not, who knows?! The sheets were clean, the bed was comfy, you can’t turn off the heating and you get a fresh towel and basin with a pump soap. Can’t deny it’s very competitively priced though.

I'm not really sure what to say. We booked a basic double room. It really was exactly that... The paint across the entire room was mismatched, hand rail next to the sink was broke, water in the taps was extremely slow running. I think for us being out of the room for most the afternoon and evening helped as we were only using it at a place to crash/sleep. Transport links near by are excellent and everything is in walking distance which I felt took our mind away from any of the issues. I would say this place has an extreme amount of potential. It just needs a little bit of an update

When I arrived to my room I found a used condom wrapper on the shelf. I arrived at 4pm (an hour after checkin time) and still had to wait25 min for my room to be ready. The bathroom was horrible and the room smelled bad.

Staff were really friendly. Bed was almost broken - the mattress was in a poor condition (felt like the springs had gone in the centre)/ It was noisy (expected around central london) but no double glazing, so all the noise could get through

Good for solo traveller cheap 1 night stay.
If you are a solo traveller staying for 1 night then this is as good a value as you will get in London. The accommodation is old and very basic. Cleanliness is okay at best. I would not be staying for say 5 nights and certainly not if I had my wife or any kids with me. WiFi is only in the reception and as I was staying in their annex building (4 doors away) I had to plan any online activity. But for solo travellers that are just looking for a place to sleep for one night, drop their bags, want to be this part of London and are not overly precious with room size then as London goes it is decent value. I went for the room that does include an ensuite. Most of their rooms do not. No breakfast option. TBF on the plus side I found the staff to be very helpful & I found the location to be excellent. 15 mins walk to Trafalgar square for example.

Great location but horrible room due to excessive
The location was great but the heating was turned up so high the room must have been thirty plus degrees. You couldn't turn off the two radiators in the room as knob to adjust them didn't work. The water pressure was terrible and you almost had to run around in the shower to get wet.

I would not recommend this hotel to a friend. The beds were very old and uncomfortable. The first room we had was very noisy on the street side. The water temperature in shower shifted suddenly and nearly burned me. We asked for another room and moved to one on the third floor in which the heater would not turn off. We left the window open all night to try to have a reasonable temperature, but it remained very hot all night--this was in October, Not summer! The price was too high for such uncomfortable accommodations.

The worst part of this hotel is the street noise throughout the day and night. If you need a good night of sleep do not stay here. Period. Otherwise, given the very reasonable price and excellent location, and tolerable room conditions, this hotel may be a sensible choice in your travel plan.

The fact you have to pay by cash is stupid. Didn’t have bank card on me so had to go to nearest NatWest cash point to get emergency cash withdrawal which I was only able to do because I had the app. He then had the cheek to say he had no change once I’d paid! Then when I’d finally checked in, the guy took an age to pick a key for a room for me. Then when I went upstairs and opened the door, there was already someone staying in that room (fortunately they were not in the room at the time). Avoid that his place. Even though it’s cheap I’d still expect better than this.

Was miss sold the room as I would never agree to a shared toilet. The gentleman working the afternoon the 11th of September was unhelpful and rude. No effort to make the room comfortable (no fans or tea making facilities etc) Stay in London all the time and never stayed in a bad hotel like this. Awful!

0/10 DO NOT GO THERE! Filthy, if u could see the pics I took u would be amazed that Expedia has this place advertised on their site. After one night I couldn’t walk because pillows, back and legs in agony from bed . Expedia will hear from me.

I know it’s one of the cheaper options but it’s worth paying that little bit more it’s a Shocking hotel room - dirty walls - floor was soaked on one side - dirty bedding - uncomfortable mattress - plug sockets in incovienant place - flies and insects in room and toilet

Goede ligging van het hotel. Maar onze kamer was aftands en sjofel. Ook het vasttapijt nodigde niet uit om met blote voeten op te lopen. Maar wat wil je voor die prijs in Londen? De douche mag eens ontkalkt worden. Grote personen zitten met hun knieën tegen de muur wanneer ze op het toilet zitten. Wij zaten op het gelijkvloers. Het beddengoed was zeer proper. Het personeel was altijd heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Room was very small bed was uncomfortable shared toilet bunged up.Room was very dirty and dated. They need to put some paint on the walls and some new carpets. The staff on reception were very courteous and polite. I will not be staying there again safe to say.

Disgraceful place!
Despite booking and ensuring the fact 2 of the party had mobility issues was communicated we were turned away on arrival. Advised room 3 floors up with no lift. Guy on reception mumbling about fire regulations. Reluctantly offered us ground floor room with nothing but bed frames and mattress still mumbling about fire regulations. Stated cost would be same. Left me to find alternative accommodation with no apology or help. Then had cheek to say he would try not to charge for cancellation. Hotel was filthy and dated a shock given it’s location. Absolutely appalling and despite only bowing to use hotels.com given horrendous experience with another oblong company had no other option. Incredibly disappointing and really in 2023 no excuse not to take disabled cliental in todays climate and to leave us stranded with no apology of compensation- disgraceful!

The rooms are filthy and badly in need of refurbishment. The whole place is shabby and run-down. The 'shared bathrooms ' are no more than public lavatories and a shower room that I would have to be desperate to use. (Not the least because it opens directly onto a corridor) I am sad that the other residents seemed to be budget travelers who had booked from abroad, not knowing what they were paying for. What must they think of London. This is not a budget hotel, it is worth half the room rate - and all dignity as a traveller is lost by rude and indifferent treatment. There are other budget hotels worth the name.

Avoid this place if you can
The only thing going for this place is that it is in a good location. But it is incredibly overpriced for what it is. When I arrived, they did not have my reservation. They did have a room available (though not the double I had reserved -- they said the hotel didn't actually have doubles), but at 20 GBP more than my reservation was for. I agreed (as nothing else nearby was available) and got out my credit card. Despite having a credit card reader on the counter, they said I had to pay in cash. I therefore had to go to the ATM and pay the ATM fee instead of charge a credit card. Super sketchy. Then the room itself was pretty bad. The carpet was stained and not that clean, and the shower (down the hall) was such that I felt inclined to wear sandals while I showered (not something I usually do). The towels they provided were so small that they didn't cover my body, so I had to change in the small, wet, shower room, trying to keep my clothes dry as I did so. In short, I have never paid so much for so little! 100 GBP for a cruddy room with a shower and toilet down the hall is ridiculous. I know London is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but give me a break. Avoid this place if you can.

Don’t … just don’t Simply put: it’s an unclean place (to put it politely) the type you of bathrooms you don’t even want to touch with a stick Staff is very kind and the location is great, steps away from the British Museum But not worth the hygienic conditions of the place
