Great place to stay
We had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were a nice size and well equipped. Other people have left feed back about the noise from outside. We did here a little but it never stopped us sleeping. This guesthouse is not in the Country, it's on a main road! The staff we encountered were all exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay again.

I messaged the guesthouse several times before our stay to ask for early check in at midday as hubby works nights & unexpectedly had to work the night before meaning he’d had no sleep. No response. When we arrived a staff member said it would be £20 for early check in. She then spoke with the housekeeper & said it’s ok because as it happens she’s cleaning our room now anyway. So we bought some drinks from the bar whilst we waited, paying a different member of staff. When the original lady came back she came and asked us for the £20! And all for nothing as hubby got no sleep anyway as there were 2 very heavy and noisy fire doors right outside our room which were constantly banging day and night. We were also opposite the cleaning cupboard and the housekeeper and other staff having very loud conversations with no thought to the guests. We could hear everything from the room above with constant banging and loud TV. Even the plumbing screamed at me for the entire time I was showering! Bed was clean and comfortable but the room has seen better days. Dirty carpet with a big iron burn mark. Dirty towel rail and we couldn’t use the TV as the remove control was sticky & covered in gunk! Big spiders webs on the table and chairs so I couldn’t sit on the terrace which was the main reason I picked the room. We came back at 11.30pm on Friday the pub was full so thought we’d have a drink but we were shouted at by staff memberto use the other entrance and go to our rooms! Not a great stay.

The Crown Pub and guesthouse is a gem clean, comfortable and friendly. You will not find better team of staff anywhere each and every one of them is friendly, fun and go above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to have great break many thanks highly recommend

Convenient and clean in Hackney
Very clean and comfortable, friendly staff on check in, nice room all round. The area is quite run down and the pub downstairs is a real, traditional boozer that might put off people who are used to gastropubs, but it shouldn't. Very convenient, short walk from the Overground. Buses to Oxford Circus and elsewhere from just outside.

So welcoming
Such lovely place to stay! We really enjoyed it! The room was clean and bed was comfortable we even had a terrace. We went to the pub below and everyone was so friendly and we felt welcome! 100% would stay here again if we need to be in the area. The pub stops playing music at a reasonable time and didn't effect us in anyway.

Rather in need of investment but ok for a short stay. Double glazing needed on windows facing main road. I was nervous about the chances of escaping if there was a fire in this old wood building

Lovely place but very noisy
Really great location and lovely rooms but the noise from the street made it really difficult to sleep. If they changed the windows or if you get a room at the back of the building it would make a huge difference.

Friendly place
The hosts were fabulous,nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and well appointed. The bed in room 7 was the most comfortable mattress ever! Parking next door was very easy and reasonable at 7.50 per day for London. Great location as we had a family wedding in clapton which was in walking distance. Broadway Market well worth a visit both for the day and evening. Pub was v lively but couldnt hear any noise in our room. We would be happy to stay again.

Great spot
This pub is in a great spot, not too far to the overground and there are plenty places to eat nearby. The service was fab and the room was nice and clean. The only negative was that they had karaoke down in the pub on one of our nights which was loud, so if you're planning on staying and having an early night you might struggle.

The room itself was ok, but the pub underneath which owns the the hotel side is shocking. Everywhere absolutely stank of cigarette smoke, including the bedroom unfortunately. The pub staff were friendly, but I wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend it.

My one night stay (for work) coincided with my birthday and I was spoilt rotten by Irish hospitality. A genuine Irish pub with genuine Irish welcome and generosity. I'll stay again next time I'm working in Hackney without a doubt. Thank you, ladies!

Lovely getaway.
Great location for us, easy to get in and out at any time. The room was clean and modern and the bed was very comfy - tea coffee hairdryer was all provided. Staff were really helpful and friendly. We stayed on 1st floor, although we could hear some noise from the pub downstairs it didn’t keep us up. Some fairly cheap parking in the church yard next door - £7 a day, so made it easy to arrive by car.

A real gem of a place!
Our stay was brilliant from start to finish! A lovely, friendly,very welcoming place! Room was amazing; clean, fresh and very homely, the terrace was a bonus to watch the world go by! Serena was so friendly and down to earth, nothing was too much trouble for her, she works tirelessly but always has a smile on her face, a real diamond! The bar staff were very warm and friendly and made u feel like a local from the start and all the local characters we met too! Definitely coming back soon and cannot wait! Excellent place to stay ❤

At check in they did not know what time our Breakfast Tray was....we subsequently missed it as we had to depart by nine o'clock. Dirty water left in sink. Toilet seat loose. We had an 'Elf' walk into our room asking to use the loo!! The bed was very comfy with really nice linen.

Hi there, please accept our sincere apologies, we no longer provide breakfast trays hence nobody knowing this at check inn. This cleaner will no longer be with us. And the elf what can I say (utterly embarrassing) he was another guest staying in the room on the floor above hence him having access to the rooms but seems to have had a tad too much to drink and lost his way. I can’t apologies enough

Fantastic find
Very friendly staff. Room was spotlessly clean with a range of toiletries provided free. Modern decor and comfy bed. Only downside was the noise from the TV in the open air terrace below room 5. It was switched off however at 11.30pm and I would definitely stay again.

Clean, well decorated room. Poor breakfast, a bit more imaginative choice rather than 2 alpen bars and 1packet croissant (there were two of us staying) No effort made. Staff friendly

What’s that rattling ??
Room was comfortable , perfect for our one night stop over in London.. although , believe it or not had a horrendous nights sleep, not because of the karaoke from the bar, which couldn’t be heard from our lofty attic room, but due to pipework rattling throughout the night and seemingly as traffic was passing the building.. with it being an attic room you’d think this impossible but no. Room 7 needs to sort out the metal clanking and then you’ll have an enjoyable rest.

Well decorated, comfortable bed, nice sheets and towels. Clean bathroom but room was dirty and carpet left a lot to be desired. Only hearing in the room was a small fan heater.

Not good.
We stayed in room 6. There was a strong smell of stale cigarette smoke in the room which remained throughout our stay, even after we had opened the window for a considerable time. The shower was stuck on extremely hot and therefore dangerous to use. The only plus side was that, as we were on the top floor, we could not hear the thumping live music that was being belted out when we returned to our room after midnight.
