The Milner York

The Milner York

10/10 Excellent
"I had a wonderful stay at The Milner and would absolutely stay here again. I booked a Superior Double and the room I was given was enormous – it honestly felt more like a suite, with a large bedroom, separate seating area with sofa and second TV, and an additional dressing area. It was beautifully comfortable and very well equipped, including a fridge, iron and ironing board and, wonderfully, a proper full-size hairdryer! The walk-in rainfall shower was lovely too, as were the complimentary toiletries. The hotel itself is a beautiful building and its original architectural details give it so much character. The location is also excellent, particularly for anyone travelling by train. I have some mobility difficulties and tire easily, so having such a lovely hotel so close to the station made my visit to York considerably easier. I also made good use of the leisure club and spa during my stay and really enjoyed it. Most of all, though, the staff were excellent. Everyone I encountered was friendly and professional, including the housekeeping staff who always greeted me when we passed in the corridors. A particular thank you has to go to Jennifer on reception, who was exceptionally welcoming and made me feel genuinely looked after throughout my stay. This was my first solo trip and choosing The Milner turned out to be a very good decision. I felt comfortable, welcome and thoroughly spoiled by that fabulous room. Thank you for such a lovely stay."

"The hotel is very well situated from the station and town centre. Breakfast was very good. Standard room was ok quite small although king bed. Our only complaint was it was so noisy from the street, shouting in the night and the refuse lorry came every morning at 5am so if we stayed again we would ask for a room overlooking the river side not the street. The hotel should look at visitors who are staying more than one night and offer rooms accordingly we stayed 3 nights and should have asked to be moved."
