"Lovely cottage well decorated with everything needed for a lovely stay . The owners even left eggs from there own hens and lovely home made cup cakes with other items such as cereal and porridge some tortilla chips and part baked rolls . I thought this was a really nice touch . I would 100% stay if next in the area . "

"An awesome experience with fantastic hosts. We will certainly be back to stay at Hippo’s rest on our next visit to the UK. Loved the cottage and amenities, the village life experience with warm-hearted neighbours who were careful not to intrude, but also very welcoming as a community. Lots to see and do with plenty of pamphlets and information. We felt right at home and had such a good experience we extended our holiday by a week, very lucky they had it available! A fantastic holiday!"

"Everything was clean, a welcome bottle of wine, plenty of tea coffee and biscuits, so despite bad weather we had a great weekend, our third time in three years!"

"Just returned from a long weekend for a family gathering of 10. Property was first class with loads of space, crockery, utensils etc. Already trimmed up for Christmas and woodburner laid and ready to light. Only reasons not 5 stars overall were that the dishwasher broke down (but this could happen anytime) and the hot water to the master bedroom en suite needed some patience.Would definitely return if we can find a suitable excuse for a get together."
