"If there are serious renovations happening it would be nice to know in advance. Although on arrival staff promised work would not start until 8am we were woken at 6:50 by the workmen emptying a skip right outside our window."

"After a long international flight, The Standard was exactly what we needed. The staff was welcoming and efficient during check-in, helping us get settled quickly. The room was spacious, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, and room service was both quick and delicious. We were able to get a full night's rest and wake up refreshed for the next day. The location was ideal after arriving in London. If our travels bring us back to this part of London, we would happily stay here again."

"The breakfast selection was satisfactory. Many of the cooked foods were luke warm. Nothing could be kept hot. The staff were unaware that I had paid for my breakfast in advance with booking. I had to pay again and ask for a refund. They were unwilling to give an instant refund. Until management was called in to resolve their booking system failure. Hotel staff were not particularly helpful or pleasant. Noisy hallway in the early morning with loud chatter from other customers. "

"I was a little disappointed in our stay. The hotel and room was very tired and in need of an update. In the morning the windows were running with condensation. The windows let an awful lot of noice through and I was awake for the 3 nights listening to the roar of traffic. The restaurants attached to the hotel were very expensive and not of the best quality. I’d recommend finding somewhere else to eat. On the day of leaving we were in a rush and needed a taxi. They said to just wait out in the forecourt ans taxis arrived every few minutes and they wouldn’t specifically call a cab. After a 15 min wait we left, turned onto the road and flagged one down immediately. Very underwhelming experience. It was ok at best."
