Caracol Beach

The hotel is small and nice. It is not a big resort so it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but is nice and well kept. The food was fine, nothing remarkable but decent overall. We got a dinner at Chianti and that was the biggest disappointment. The prawns were impossible to eat as they cooked them with the shell and it just got stuck to them badly. The taste was good, but not the way they should be cooked (not even deveined). The meat was way overcooked and the risotto was way too watery. It almost looked like a rice soup. At Umami, the Japanese restaurant, they took forever to bring my roll and when I asked for a to-go box they said I would have to pay for the dish if I wanted to take it with me (we had the all inclusive plan and had not even ordered the 5 max. dishes per person). I was in a bad mood after the long wait and didn’t want to stay there anymore. At the end they spoke to a supervisor and was able to take it with me but the service and attitude were terrible. On the last day we were waiting for the pool guy to set up the loungers, he was waiting for someone to help him; my husband ended up assisting him so we could have a place to lay down next to the pool. We were told the bar service at the beach ends at 5:00 PM, we tried to order a drink around 4:50 and were told the service was no longer available. In general it feels like most employees are barely doing their job. Honorio, the bellboy was the only one with a real service attitude.

Everything was great

Friendly staff, good food, very clean, good wait staff family friendly atmosphere. Love the dining option in the evening such as Sisal and Club Bistro. Need more entertainment in the Sports Bar like live music and more entertainment during the day like more contest. Need more pool floats for guests and Upgrade bed spreads
